Improves elasticity of mortars – enables using them for installation of ceramic facings
on deformable substrates, like appropriately rigid and stable waterproof plywood and
Enables better compensation of strain in the mortar – enables application of non-
elastic mortars on balconies, terraces, subfloors in floor heating systems.
Improves mortar adhesion to the substrate – after modification, mortars of basic
adhesion can be used on old glazing and terracotta, directly on terrazzo and on residues
of old strongly adhering adhesives and mineral mortars.
Improves working parameters – increases the elasticity of mortars, makes them more
comfortable to work with.
Increases the range of application of selected cement-based mortars – ATLAS
PLASTICISED ADHESIVE and ATLAS GROUT FOR WIDE JOINTS.
Element of the contact layer for selected ATLAS mortars – used for appropriate
preparation of the substrate before the application of TEN-10, POSTAR 80, POSTAR 40
and POSTAR 20.
Preparation of emulsion solution
The emulsion is added to mortars in the form of water solution. Prepara-tion consists in pouring the emulsion to a container and diluting it with clean water in appropriate proportions, depending on its application:
− − to ATLAS PLASTICISED ADHESIVE - 1 kg of emulsion to 1.7 l of water
− − to ATLAS GROUT FOR WIDE JOINTS - 1 kg of emulsion to 2.0 l of water
− − to subfloor ATLAS TEN-10 (used for contact layer) - 1 kg of emulsion to 2.0 l of water
− − to subfloor POSTAR 20 (used for contact layer) - 1 kg of emulsion to 2.0 l of water
− − to subfloor POSTAR 40 (used for contact layer) - 1 kg of emulsion to 2.0 l of water
− − to subfloor POSTAR 80 (used for contact layer) - 1 kg of emulsion to 2.0 l of water
− − to mortar ZW 330 (used for contact layer) - 1 kg of emulsion to 2.0 l of water
Slowly add the dry mix into the emulsion solution (in proportions as listed in the Technical Data Sheet of the modified product) and mix until homogenous. The modified mortar is ready to use after 10 minutes and remixing.
ATLAS PLASTICISED ADHESIVE, and ATLAS GROUT FOR WIDE JOINTS after emulsion adding should be used within 2 hours after mix- ing, ATLAS TEN-10, ATLAS ZW 330, ATLAS POSTAR 80, ATLAS POSTAR 40 and ATLAS POSTAR 20 directly after mixing. No matter whether ATLAS ELASTIC EMULSION is added to the mortar, or if it used unmodified, the way of its application remains unchanged and its description is in the Technical Data Sheet for this mortar.
